Ingredients:
- 2 ribeye steaks
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Directions:
- Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat a cast-iron skillet over high heat until it is very hot.
- Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- Add olive oil to the hot skillet and swirl to coat.
- Place the steaks in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
