Perfectly Seared Ribeye Steak with Salt and Pepper

Ingredients:

  • 2 ribeye steaks
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions:

  1. Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat a cast-iron skillet over high heat until it is very hot.
  3. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Add olive oil to the hot skillet and swirl to coat.
  5. Place the steaks in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  6. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
