Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 3/4 cups white sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 10×15-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the vanilla and eggs one at a time.
- Gradually add the flour and salt to the creamed mixture until well combined.
- Spread 3 cups of batter in the prepared pan. Spread the cherry pie filling over the batter. Drop the remaining batter by spoonfuls over the cherry layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- In a small bowl, combine the powdered sugar, almond extract, and milk to make the glaze. Drizzle over the cooled bars before cutting into squares.
