π₯ Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions π₯
π Ingredients:
β’ 1 lb (about 450g) steak, thinly sliced
β’ 2 tbsp soy sauce
β’ 1 tsp cornstarch
β’ 1 tsp sesame oil
β’ 1 tbsp vegetable oil
β’ 1 green bell pepper, sliced
β’ 1 medium onion, sliced
β’ 2 garlic cloves, minced
β’ 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
β’ 1 tbsp additional soy sauce
β’ 1 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional but adds great flavor)
β’ 1 tsp brown sugar
β’ 1/2 tsp black pepper
β’ 1/4 cup water
π Instructions:
1οΈβ£ In a bowl, mix the sliced steak with 2 tbsp soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
2οΈβ£ Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
3οΈβ£ In the same pan, add the bell pepper and onion. Stir-fry for 2 minutes, then add garlic and ginger. Cook for another minute.
4οΈβ£ Return the steak to the pan. Add the additional soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, and water. Stir well and cook for another 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
5οΈβ£ Serve hot with steamed rice! π
