Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small green bell pepper, diced
- 1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (16 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 cup red wine (optional)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Directions:
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion, garlic, and green bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until vegetables are tender.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste. Mix well.
- Add oregano, basil, salt, pepper, rosemary, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir to combine.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add red wine if desired and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley before serving.
