Amish Hamburger Steak Bake

Ingredients:

1 ½ lbs ground beef

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 cups milk, divided

¼ cup all-purpose flour

Instructions:

Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and ensure the rack is positioned in the center for even baking.Grease a baking dish and set aside.

Season & Cook Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat. Season generously with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and freshly ground black pepper to enhance the flavors. Spread evenly into the prepared baking dish.

Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together ½ cup of milk and the flour until smooth. In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 ½ cups of milk and bring to a gentle simmer. Slowly whisk in the flour mixture, stirring constantly until thickened.

Assemble & Bake: Pour the sauce over the beef in the baking dish, spreading evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the dish is bubbly around the edges and the top turns a beautiful golden brown.
Serve & Enjoy: Let cool slightly before serving. Pair with mashed potatoes, rice, or your favorite vegetables for a complete meal.
