Save money and make your own cream cheese with just 3 simple ingredients!
—
Ingredients:
4 cups fresh whole milk
2 tablespoons vinegar (white or apple cider)
1/4 teaspoon salt
—
Instructions:
1. Heat the Milk:
Pour the milk into a saucepan and bring it to a boil over medium heat.
2. Curdle the Milk:
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low. Stir in the vinegar slowly while stirring continuously. The milk will start to curdle, forming soft curds and leaving behind clear whey.
3. Strain the Curds:
Remove from heat and pour the mixture through a cheesecloth-lined strainer. Let it drain for a few minutes, then gather the cheesecloth and squeeze out the remaining liquid.
4. Blend into Cream Cheese:
Transfer the curds to a food processor. Add salt and blend until smooth and creamy.
5. Chill and Serve:
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before using. Enjoy your homemade cream cheese!
