Fluffy Cheese Garlic Biscuits

  1. Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk

Garlic Butter:

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley flakes

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder. Cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the Cheddar cheese.
  3. Make a well in the center of the mixture and add the milk. Stir just until combined. Drop by spoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. While the biscuits are baking, mix together the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley flakes in a small bowl. Brush the hot biscuits with the garlic butter as soon as they come out of the oven.
