🔥 Sizzling Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions 🥩🥢
Tender beef, crisp veggies, and a rich, savory sauce—this classic Chinese Pepper Steak is bursting with flavor! Perfect over rice or noodles.
📝 Ingredients:
For the Steak:
1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch
For Cooking:
2 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
1 large onion, sliced
1 bell pepper (red or green), sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp ginger, minced
For the Sauce:
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp sugar
Salt & black pepper, to taste
For Garnish:
Green onions, chopped
Sesame seeds
🍽️ Instructions:
1️⃣ Marinate the Steak
In a bowl, combine sliced steak, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and let marinate for 15-20 minutes.
2️⃣ Sear the Steak
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Sear steak 2-3 minutes per side until browned but not fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
3️⃣ Sauté the Vegetables
Add remaining oil to the same skillet.
Stir-fry onion & bell pepper for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened.
Add garlic & ginger, stir-frying until fragrant (about 1 minute).
4️⃣ Combine & Sauce It Up
Return steak to the skillet.
In a small bowl, mix oyster sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Pour over the steak and veggies.
Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes until steak is tender and sauce thickens.
5️⃣ Serve & Enjoy
Garnish with chopped green onions & sesame seeds.
Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
