This recipe creates a concentrated wellness paste. You can take a spoonful directly or stir it into warm water for an instant soothing tea.
### **Ingredients**
* **Raw Honey:** 1 cup (Local and unfiltered is best for enzymes)
* **Fresh Ginger:** 3 tbsp (Peeled and finely grated)
* **Turmeric Powder:** 2 tbsp (Or 4 tbsp fresh grated turmeric root)
* **Lemon:** 1-2 lemons (Juiced, plus 1 tsp of the zest)
* **Ceylon Cinnamon:** 1 tsp (For a warmer, sweeter flavor)
* **Black Pepper:** ½ tsp (**Essential:** This helps the body absorb the turmeric)
* **Cayenne Pepper:** 1 pinch (Optional, for an extra metabolic kick)
### **Instructions**
1. **Prepare:** Peel the fresh ginger (and turmeric root, if using) using the edge of a spoon. Grate them as finely as possible to ensure a smooth texture.
2. **Combine:** Pour the raw honey into a clean glass jar. Add the grated ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper, and optional cayenne.
3. **Brighten:** Stir in the fresh lemon juice and the zest.
4. **Mix:** Use a wooden or silicone spoon to stir the mixture until it forms a thick, uniform paste.
5. **Infuse:** Let the jar sit at room temperature for at least **24 hours** before the first use to allow the flavors to fully meld.
### **Usage & Storage**
* **Daily Use:** Take 1 teaspoon directly or stir into a mug of warm (not boiling) water.
* **Storage:** Keep in a cool, dark cupboard for 2 weeks, or in the refrigerator for up to 2 months. Note that the honey will become much firmer when cold.
> **Note:** While these ingredients are great for a boost, ginger and turmeric can have mild blood-thinning properties. If you are on specific medications, it’s always a good idea to check with a professional before making this a daily habit!
