Ingredients
For the Chicken:
Chicken Drumsticks: 10–12 pieces (cleaned and patted dry)
Olive Oil: 2 tbsp
Salt & Black Pepper: To taste
Garlic Powder: 1 tsp
Paprika: 1 tsp
For the Sticky Glaze:
Honey: 1/2 cup
Soy Sauce: 4 tbsp (preferably low sodium)
Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
Lemon Juice: 1 tbsp
Unsalted Butter: 1 tbsp
Instructions
Season the Chicken: In a large bowl, toss the drumsticks with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
Initial Bake: Arrange the chicken in a baking dish or on a parchment-lined tray. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for about 30–35 minutes, turning halfway through.
Prepare the Glaze: While the chicken is baking, combine the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, and butter in a small saucepan. Simmer over medium-low heat for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens into a glossy syrup.
Glaze and Caramelize: Remove the chicken from the oven and brush generously with the honey garlic sauce. Return to the oven for another 10–15 minutes.
Tip: For that extra charred look seen in the photo, turn on the broiler (grill) for the last 2–3 minutes until bubbly and dark golden.
Garnish: Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley or sesame seeds before serving.
Recipe Tips
Crispy Skin: Ensure the chicken is very dry before adding the oil and spices; this helps the skin get that perfect texture.
Make it Spicy: Add a teaspoon of red chili flakes or a dash of Sriracha to the glaze if you want a “Hot Honey” version.
Serving Suggestion: This pairs perfectly with steamed jasmine rice or roasted root vegetables.
