Tropical Chocolate Coconut Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 (10 ounce) package marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 6 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir in the shredded coconut and crispy rice cereal until well coated.
  4. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish using a buttered spatula or waxed paper.
  5. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
  6. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the top of the treats.
  7. Allow the treats to cool and the chocolate to set before cutting into squares.
