Ingredients:
- 2/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 8 slices white bread
- 8 slices Swiss cheese
- 8 slices cooked ham
- 8 slices cooked turkey
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
- Raspberry or strawberry jam for serving (optional)
Directions:
- In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard. Spread the mixture evenly over one side of each slice of bread.
- Layer 4 slices of bread with a slice of Swiss cheese, 2 slices of ham, another slice of Swiss cheese, and 2 slices of turkey. Top with the remaining bread slices, mayonnaise side down.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
- Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook until golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove from the skillet and dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve with raspberry or strawberry jam.
